Preservation Initiative

Developed over this last year remarkable progress has been made in this direction. The Preservation Initiative, born of our commitment to the overall well-being of the organization, is a long-term program which seeks to establish an endowment for the future of the organization. The Preservation Initiative looks to secure the Sculpture Gardens’ future by opening up a sound and viable avenue for donors. Donated funds will be used in the present for matters requiring immediate and urgent attention, as outlined by the Preservation Initiative Committee.  They will be used in the long-term for the preservation of the organization's physical assets on into the future.

Rare Palm Gardens Master Plan

The Master Plan looks to complete the last phases of the development of the gardens.  The Principles for the Gardens, our governing document, stipulates the conditions of development of our rare palm and native plant gardens.  Internationally recognized as one of the largest collections of rare palms on view to the public, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens continues to cultivate rare species in its gardens.

Artist Exhibition(s)
Our exhibition schedule features nationally or internationally recognized art and artist who's work reflects our mission and includes gallery installations and/or garden installation of sculpture.  Artist’s openings draw from Palm Beach and neighboring areas including our members. Private events surrounding an exhibition are held.

Event: Multiple Artist’s Openings through Season

Sponsorship of entire season or individual events range is $5,000 for individual exhibition or $25,000 Season.
 


Annual Festival of Trees and Holiday House: “Magic of the Movies”

This year’s theme “Magic of the Movies” is sure to be an Oscar winning event. This unique holiday experience features an amazing Gala Reception with an exquisite selection of food and drink to satisfy everyone’s palette by Sandy James Catering, a children’s food station followed by delicious cookies and sweets baked by the Chef’s at the Breakers.  Enjoy your favorite film characters in costume, wonderful entertainment by cultural organizations and of course thirty beautifully decorated evergreen trees. 

Headed up by Joseph Pubillones, our talented volunteer designers will interpret each individually sponsored tree theme to make our sponsors’ vision come to life.   The result is one of the most magical holiday events in the Palm Beaches. 
"Magic of the Movies" remains open to the public for 7 additional days in December. Admission from this extraordinary event is the major fundraising vehicle for the Gardens and its award winning Community Enrichment Program: including Exhibitions, Literacy Days, Earth Days and on-going student visits made possible by outstanding collaborations and partnerships.

 Literacy Days at the Gardens- Event: January 10 
 

January 10 2012, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens' is pleased to present its 5th Annual Literacy Days, In partnership with the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach County Library, This one of a kind program provides over 700 students and teachers with a new and creative approach to reading and writing. Authors, illustrators and librarians inspire students grades K-3 and offer them the power of literacy.  Children enjoy reading stations, poetry activities, and the unique beauty that is the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. 

Sponsorship:  $10,000 to fully underwrite program and year long school visits 

 

 
Earth Days at the Gardens-April 16-17

This unique hands-on experience teaches environmental science education, conservation, and stewardship of our environment. Through this program the Gardens has created permanent community partnerships with other like organizations including, Arthur Marshall Foundation,  Preservation Foundation, Solid Waste Authority, Bee Keepers Association, Resource Depot, Daggerwing Nature Center, Palm Beach County Library, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Public Archaeology and more.  Together we provide a comprehensive environmental science.


Sponsorship: $10,000  to fully underwrite program and year long school visits

 Little Explorers' Halloween in the Gardens October 30

As the moon rises, come and trick or treat, dressed as your favorite character and meet our silly and spooky friends in the Gardens.  Halloween performances by Lake Worth Playhouse's Ghost Light, Monster Mash Music and treats and tricks from friendly goblins and the ballerinas and fairies of Florida Classical Ballet.  Enjoy refreshing thirst quenching witches brew and spooktacular decorations by Gentlemen of the Gardens.

Annual Egg Hunt

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens plays host to Members and Members' Guests for a spectacular egg hunt. Our youngest members will discover thousands of eggs among our 1.7 acres of lush palms and native plants. A visit by “Bunny” and photo opportunity make the event a family tradition. Enjoy ice cold lemonade, early morning sunshine in the gardens with special performances after the Egg Hunt. Visit our Easter Boutique for that special gift on Easter Sunday and remember the hunt goes off at 10:15 Sharp.  All visitor parking at Palm Beach Day Lot adjoining the property on S. Flagler Drive only.

 

 Little Explorers' Club in the Gardens

Through creative play, garden exploration, storytelling and art making, your little explorer will create memories and art keepsakes inspired by our sculpture gardens. Together we will learn about land, sky and ocean habitats, and the native Florida wildlife that makes our garden grow. 

Plus Fantastic Fridays with special guests from Arthur Marshall, Daggerwing Nature Center, Beekeepers Association and Busch Wildlife Sanctuary. Children will enjoy being silly at our Pajama Day, Come as a Critter, Costume Party, Carnival, Fancy Nancy Day and more.
