Preservation has always sustained America. By protecting and enhancing the buildings, community and landscapes that tell America’s story, preservation allows us to maintain tangible contact with the places where our identity as a nation was established and our character as a people was shaped. By helping us understand the process that made us who we are, preservation gives us the confidence to become who we can be.” Richard Moe, President, National Trust for Historic Preservation
The Preservation Initiative, born of our commitment to the overall well- being of the organization, is a long-term program which will establish an endowment for the future of the organization. The Preservation Initiative looks to secure the Sculpture Gardens’ future by opening up a sound and viable avenue for donors. Donated funds will be used in the present for matters requiring immediate and urgent attention, as outlined by the Preservation Initiative Committee. They will be used in the long-term for the preservation of the organization's physical assets on into the future.
We believe that only through preservation and conservation will the Sculpture Gardens enjoy a long life. Ann Norton's art, artist’s studio, gardens and home are intrinsically tied together both historically and spiritually. Ann Norton's legacy is her gift to us.
